Every now and then I have a profound conversation with my therapist.
Sara (therapist):So what’s going on?
Me: There’s a thing.
Sara: What kind of thing?
Me: The thing that I don’t want to be a thing.
Sara: Ah, that thing.
Me: Yeah. I don’t want it to be a thing.
Sara: Well we know what the thing looks like. You don’t want it to be a thing. So we need to figure what not being a thing looks like. Then it won’t be a thing.
